GPT Ads Format Guide

The GPT Ads format is designed for conversational environments. Understanding the format constraints helps you create ads that fit naturally.

Format specifications

GPT Ads use a specific format designed for the conversational interface.

  • Image: 1200x1200 pixels, square 1:1 ratio, PNG or JPG.
  • Title: 16-24 characters recommended, 50 characters maximum.
  • Copy: 32-48 characters recommended, 100 characters maximum.
  • Landing page: URL required.
  • Brand name: Displayed with the ad.

Image best practices

The image is the first thing the user sees. It should reinforce the same customer problem or outcome expressed in the title and copy.

Avoid generic stock photos. Use visuals that connect with the specific customer situation your ad describes.

Title best practices

The title is the hook. It should make the right customer recognize themselves.

Aim for 16-24 characters. Short enough to read instantly, long enough to be specific.

  • Use recognition language: "Still doing X manually?"
  • Name the outcome: "Ship faster with Y"
  • Ask the question: "Tired of Z?"
  • Avoid feature lists: "AI-powered platform" does not create recognition.

Copy best practices

The copy expands on the title. It should connect the customer situation to your product as the bridge.

Aim for 32-48 characters. Enough to add context, not so much that it becomes a paragraph.
